Already for the second time after 2010 Fabasoft participated as main sponsor from European Union member states in the exhibition INFODOCUM 2011. The INFODOCUM is a major Russian-wide forum, where professionals from the public and private sector, responsible for document and enterprise content management, gather twice a year to discuss developments and challenges and exchange information and experiences on topics of general interest in the said fields in Russia. The event’s emphasis was focused on the importance of effective document management systems as a prerequisite for the enhanced use of virtual interaction between authorities and citizens and the development of information society in Russia as envisaged by the Russian Government’s Program on “Information Society 2011 – 2020”. The exhibition was organized by the “Records Managers’ Guild“, a Russian non-profit association uniting leading professionals responsible for records management in organizations of the public and private sector, supported by the Council of Federation and the State Duma of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation and took place in the premises of the Chamber of Industry and Commerce in Moscow.
On the first day in the course of a full-day plenary session various presentations gave an overview about the increasing use of electronic document and enterprise content management systems in Russia, aspects concerning the migration from paper to electronic documents in different organizations and the corresponding effects that have been achieved by this progress towards citizens. On the second day Roundtables were held focusing on specific topics like “the electronic citizen” and governmental e-services, problems and solutions of effective electronic document management in the public administration, legal requirements to DMS, data security in DMS, problems in migration from paper to electronic documents and others. On the third day a visit to the State Duma and the Council of Federation for selected visitors was foreseen on the agenda.
In the course of the plenary session Mr Peter Rinzner from the Vienna City Council held a presentation on the integration of e-services provided by the Vienna City Council via its website (www.wien.gv.at) to citizens with Fabasoft’s standard software product Fabasoft eGov-Suite, which is used by the City Council as the standard application for the internal processing of citizens’ requests. The presentation gave a comprehensive insight about the total paper free workflow being already applied in Vienna in this respect, i.e. from the moment the citizen’s request arrives electronically via the website at the City Council, is electronically processed by the Council using Fabasoft’s eGov-Suite until the administration’s response is dispatched to the addressee by applying dual delivery technology (either a paper document or a secure electronic document delivery to the citizen).
